Showcase Season Is Here!
Save the date! Our annual showcase takes place Saturday, June 13th, 3:00 PM at the Alderney Landing Theatre.
- Morning dress rehearsals will begin at 9:00 AM
- The Costume Rental Fees & Personal Clothing Items post has been published
- Costume rental fees are due on Wednesday, June 3rd.
- Ticket purchase information is available here.
- Special seating for those with mobility issues is available. Please call the Alderney Landing Theatre box office at 902-461-8401 to purchase those tickets.
- Rehearsal schedules and other information will be emailed to students soon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for KiDanCo’s May 23 & 24 Spring Season at DANSpace, Halifax.
A round of applause goes to company members: Fiona Foot, Lauren Foot, Charis Greeley, Alice Gunn, Eva Holmes, Olivia Holmes, Kiera MacDonald, and Valeriia Shevchenko. Apprentices Elyse Crober, Ivanka Holmes and Phoenix Hugzagh performed with professionalism and artistic maturity. We would also like to thank understudy Mackenzie Tomlin for her commitment to the company.
Choreographers Michelle Lehman, Anastasia Wiebe, Mackenzie Tomlin, and Artistic Director Leica Hardy provided the dancers with works that challenged them artistically and technically.
We are also grateful to the audiences, donors and program advertisers for making the weekend’s performances such a meaningful celebration of contemporary dance and new creation.
For those of you who were not able to attend, we will be performing two of the works at the Student Showcase – You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello by Michelle Lehman and Legacy by Leica Hardy. You can also see our promotional reel here.

Classes will be available on Tuesday nights throughout July with Michelle Lehman.

• July 7 & 12 – Ballet (Level 6 & 7 / Adult Basic+)
• July 14 & 28 – Jazz & Conditioning (equivalent to Ballet 5 to 7 / Adult Basic+) - Pricing (tax-included):
• single classes = $28.00
• pre-paid four-class card = $100.00
Alumna Spotlight – Lara Frame Graduates From the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School
We’re proud to announce that LHSD alumna, Lara Frame, recently graduated from the Professional Division of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Lara is our poster photo for this year’s Showcase. Many of you will remember her graduating solo from our 2024 Showcase.
Audition for Nutcracker 2026 – June 15 & 16
Auditions for our 34th season of The Nutcracker will take place June 15 & 16 at Halifax Dance. This production returns to the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium this December.
