Ruth-Ellen Kroll Jackson is originally from Nova Scotia. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The North Carolina School of the Arts and had a professional dance career in New York where she danced for The Martha Graham Dance Ensemble, New York City Opera, and the Parsons Dance Company, and in Halifax dancing with Verve Mwendo, Veronique Mackenzie, Lisa Phinney Langley, Henry Jackson and Mocean Dance. She is the proud recipient of a Nova Scotia Masterworks award. Ruth-Ellen is an independent choreographer whose work has been seen in Canada and the U.S.A. on Canada’s Ballet Jörgen, Verve Mwendo, Kinetic Studio’s Mainstage, the Young Company of Halifax Dance, Coastal Dance Theatre, The Maritime Performance Group and KiDanCo.
