June 14 – LHSD Student Showcase 2025
The LHSD Student Showcase is on Saturday, June 14th 3:00PM at Alderney Landing Theatre. Showcase information package was emailed to everyone May 14. If you can’t find your copy please email the office before June 11. The information is also posted on the hallway bulletin board.
Showcase Costume Rental Fees
Showcase costume rental fees were due on May 24. Reminder emails have been sent to those who’s fees are outstanding.
LHSD Student Showcase 2025 Tickets
Showcase tickets are now available for purchase.
- Alderney Landing Box Office: Mon.-Fri. 10:30AM-4:30PM. Phone 902-461-8401
- Purchase online at Tixr.com
- The front row has been reserved for those with mobility issues. Phone the box office to purchase those seats.
- Adult & Senior $25.00/Child & Student $20.00.
- The above prices include Tixr service charges and taxes. If you would like to avoid Tixr service charges you can purchase the tickets directly from the box office on a cash basis.
June 17 & 18 – Nutcracker Auditions for Children & Dancers
I am thrilled to announce that The Nutcracker will be returning to the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium this December for its 33rd season! Most of you know that I am the choreographer/artistic director of the production, which is co-produced by Symphony Nova Scotia, Mermaid Theatre and Halifax Dance. We will be holding auditions on June 17 & 18 at Halifax Dance. Audition information is below. For those of you who are close to 5 ft. tall, I would encourage you to attend both the children’s and dancers’ auditions. If you have any questions about the audition process or the intensive don’t hesitate to contact me.
Children’s Auditions – Tuesday, June 17Must be 9 years old by September 30, 2025
Must be no taller than 5 feet
Dance training required; dramatic abilities are an asset

Dancer Auditions – Wednesday, June 18
Must be over 5 feet tall
