Collage of two dance photos of LHSD alumna Lara Frame performing onstage. On the left, she is mid-jump in a modern piece wearing black pants and a blue top. On the right, she dances a classical ballet in a white dress and pointe shoes, extending one leg high behind her in an attitude derrière.

We are proud to celebrate LHSD alumna Lara Frame on receiving a Nova Scotia Talent Trust Scholarship for her second academic year in the Professional Division Program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.

This marks Lara’s third consecutive Talent Trust Scholarship — an achievement that recognizes her dedication, discipline, and artistic potential.

Building on a Strong Foundation

Previous scholarships from the Talent Trust helped support her participation in the summer intensive programs at Canada’s National Ballet School and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Those experiences helped her to prepare for the demands of full-time pre-professional training.

Lara’s commitment to excellence has been evident throughout her time at LHSD. Her strong technical foundation and engaging artistry were always visible in her annual performances in The Nutcracker and the year-end Student Showcase.

Award Recognition and Achievements

In 2024, Lara was the recipient of the Nova Scotia Talent Trust’s Janice Merritt Flemming Award and earned a Mark of Distinction on her Elementary Dancer Exam with the Society of Classical Ballet – Vaganova Method.

We are looking forward to Lara’s continued success and are proud to see how the foundation she received at LHSD has supported her artistic journey.  Brava Lara!
