One of the most rewarding parts of teaching dance is seeing how students carry their training — and pieces of us as teachers — into everything they do. Teaching isn’t only about passing on information or steps; it’s about sharing ways of moving, thinking, and approaching the art that leave traces long after students leave the studio.
This is why alumnae accomplishments are so meaningful to teachers. They remind us that the studio experience doesn’t end at the door — it travels with each dancer into new stages, companies, and performances.
This past weekend, we were especially proud to see two LHSD alumnae onstage in The Sleeping Beauty with Secret Media Network.

- Maggie Oates-Johnson performed the ballet’s title role of Aurora. (Right photo by Anastasia Wiebe.)
Brava, Hannah Mae and Maggie — we’re so proud of you both, and grateful that a piece of our studio continues to shine through your work.
