Nutcracker Auditions for Children & Dancers
June 15 & 16, 2026
Prepare for Nutcracker Auditions 2026! The Nutcracker will be returning to the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium this December for its 34th season! Leica Hardy is the choreographer/artistic director of the ballet, which Symphony Nova Scotia, Mermaid Theatre and Halifax Dance co-produce. Auditions are on June 15 & 16 at Halifax Dance. Audition information is below. If you are close to 5 ft. tall, plan to attend both the children’s and dancers’ auditions. Children’s Auditions – Monday, June 15
Must be no taller than 5 feet & 9 years old by Sept. 30, 2025
Dance training required; dramatic abilities are an asset

6:00-6:45 PM – Group A
6:45-7:30 PM – Group B
7:30-8:15 PM – Call-backs
Dancer Auditions – Tuesday, June 16
Must be over 5 feet tall

Audition Fee: $20 per dancer (If attending both auditions, the fee is only paid once.)
